Located in foggy Saint John, New Brunswick, the Saint John Youth Orchestra is New Brunswick’s newest performing ensemble for youth. With its official launch in September, 2018, the orchestra is made up of 40 vibrant, energetic, and dedicated students from the city and its surrounding areas, all coming together to reach a common goal: making beautiful music together. The SJYO is a program of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, whose mission is to inspire children and youth to reach their full potential through the learning and performing of orchestral music. Under the direction of Maestro Cesar Suarez, the SJYO is very excited to be submitting their version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” to the CBC Music Class Challenge!
